Robert Fleming Wharton (April 24, 1985) and close friend William
Rivers Waddey (December 2, 1983) were tragically killed in a car accident on July 10, 2003 in the mountains of North Georgia.
Robert was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia by Patsy and Les Wharton of Sandy Springs and had planned to attend The University
of Georgia. He graduated from Riverwood High School in 2003 as a member of The National Honor Society. Robert was an active
member in the Atlanta community through Peachtree Presbyterian Church, Sandy Springs United Methodist Church Recreational
Basketball, and was a Riverwood High School Media Reporter. Robert recently traveled throughout Eastern Europe including
Prague & Germany, and was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian’s 2002 Mission Trip to Jamaica. A role model for all, Robert
always had a contagious and animated smile. His vivacious sense of humor and benevolence will never be forgotten.
